RESTAURANT REVIEW

Its been 5 long years with my boyfriend - to celebrate, we went for cocktails at Bohemia Lounge on Great Eastern Street and then supper at Les Trois Garcons, both in Shoreditch and both excellent.

You have to book in advance to go to Bohemia Lounge.  Its underground, in what seems like where they would have stored wine/beer in the past. There are cave-like forms with nice little seating areas. The decor is  simple retro/modern. There's a magazine rack with issues of Wallpaper and Monocle. The menus are within old Czech books. The owner, Paul, will personally serve you - the drinks are not hugely expensive but don't last long. My favorite cocktail was Holy Smoke - think it was about £14.00, but there are others for £7.00.  I recommend going here for a quiet, special drink - if you want somewhere a little different.

Then we went to french restaurant, Les Trois Garcons, just around the corner past Shoreditch House. This was such a gem! The interior was opulent, with every piece considered. Ancient stuffed animals adorned the walls from Monkeys to Giraffes - great chandeliers and handbags hung from the ceiling - the whole atmosphere was magical. We both had 3 courses along with red wine - it was probably the best meal I've ever eaten, however it is pretty expensive - I think it worked out £90.00 a head. But I really really suggest going for a special occasion because it's worth it. Sorry, all my photos are quite blurred as was using my phone.

So .... there you go - and the results are....

Bohemia Lounge 8/10

Les Trois Garcons 10/10
